Your Free Trial
As a beginner you have one month of free lessons with absolutely no obligation to join. Your trial starts from the date of your first lesson; so if you fill out the form on the 10th February for example but don’t get to a lesson until the 20th February your free trial will run until the 20th March.
If you are ill or unable to attend lessons in your free trial for whatever reason then please let us know and we will happily extend it to account for this.
What happens next? At the end of your free trial you will receive a text to the mobile number(s) you provided letting you know what to do next to become a member.
If at this point you decide not to continue with Tae Kwon-Do then that is absolutely fine, you don’t need to do anything. It is important to us to give people the opportunity to step outside their comfort zone and try something new, so we won’t at all be offended if you decide it isn’t the sport for you.
Our Classes
In your free trial you are welcome to train as often as you like in one or both locations to find out what works best for you. You don’t need to pre-book your lessons, simply pop along to any session that suits you.
If visiting Emersons Green please note that the Village Hall car park is currently managed by Parking Eye so if you are in the car park for more than 10mins please ensure you enter your vehicle registration at reception or online here. Forget to enter your registration? No problem. Let us know and we can provide you with a letter to pass on to Parking Eye.

Other Costs
The first step in continuing your training after your free trial is to get you licenced; a licence costs £38 and provides you with student insurance and membership to the Tae Kwon-Do Association of Great Britain for 1 year.
You may also wish to look at getting a Tae Kwon-Do suit (“Dobok”) at this point; any time between the end of your free trial and your first grading is fine. They cost £34 for junior sizes and £38 for adult sizes.
Gradings
Gradings provide you with an opportunity to move up through the grades and earn new belts. There are 4 Gradings hosted every year for our Clubs which can be found on our Google Calendar on our home page.
Before each Grading we will run through a Pre-Grading with you where we show you what to expect and test your readiness. If you pass you can then enter the Grading itself which will be held at our Emersons Green venue and will be judged by the Vice-Chairman of the T.A.G.B, Grand Master Michael Dew (9th Degree Black Belt).
Most beginners are able to grade within 3 months of starting, but this does depend on age; younger children can take 6 – 9 months to fine tune their techniques and build up the confidence to perform these techniques in front of others.
